What does a postpartum doula do?
A postpartum doula provides emotional and physical support after baby arrives. My postpartum doula services look like caring for baby while you rest or focus on your self-care, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning the kitchen, helping with laundry, or even just being an ear to talk to.
In the weeks after birth, a new mom's body and heart need a few simple things: extended rest, warm nourishing foods, gentle touch and massage, the company of women who understand, and time outside in nature. Whether that means a nourishing meal and some herbal tea by a sunny window, a walk with me and baby, or a nap and a shower, it all supports your wellbeing as you recover.
As a postpartum doula serving families in Pittsboro, Hillsborough, Chapel Hill, Durham and surrounding areas, I've supported new parents since 2019. My visits happen right in your home, so you can rest, eat well and recover while someone you trust cares for your baby and your household. Every family is different. Some need help with newborn care and feeding questions, others want a warm meal and a few hours of sleep. Together we'll figure out what the first weeks should look like for you.
