About Me

My photography journey began at Appalachian State University, where I first fell in love with the art while studying Graphic Design. Mostly it was my concentration in alternative photography techniques such as Poloroid transfers, Cyanotypes and printing photographs on wood, cloth and metal that really drew me in. That passion has only grown since then, guiding my lens through a wide variety of subjects—from the glow of maternity and newborn moments to the magic of intimate weddings and the stories of small businesses. Every shot I take is driven by a deep appreciation for the people, places, and moments that make life uniquely beautiful. Whether it’s capturing the tender connection between a growing family or highlighting the essence of a local brand, I strive to create images that tell stories, evoke emotion, and preserve memories for years to come.

My Postpartum Doula journey intertwined with photography after the birth of my son, when I really could have used a Doula, but did not have one. And after many years in the hospitality business in tandem with photographing weddings of friends and newborns at the hospital, I decided to be that Doula for others, and I attended a Maternitywise Doula training in 2019. I began serving families in May 2021, and I have had so many wonderful clients since then. I love showing up for new parents. I love seeing the relief on a new parents face when they get a nap and a shower. I love showing up with fresh Lemon Balm tea, and cooking amazing soups and stews from Heng Ou’s The First Forty Days book.

I want to help you on your journey, whatever stage you are in. This can mean taking photos for you or showing up for your family, whatever you feel you need, I can be there for you. Offering photo sessions, dayshifts and/or postpartum meals at this time. Please get in touch to schedule!

""Working with Suzanne was nothing short of amazing. She can be whatever you need her to be: a chef, an attentive listener, an affirming fellow mother. She will find tasks you wouldn't think of asking her to do, and leaves the house in much better shape than when she arrives (all while tending to baby!). It's clear she truly cares about her clients, from checking in between visits to researching topics if she doesn't have immediate advice. She is a warm, calming presence, and very easy to talk to.""
